Methods and results of control of hazardous air pollution by transport pollutants in the engine run and warm-up modes in Arctic Circle towns
Abstract
Dangerous air pollution by industry and transport for the period 2010 – 2019 has been studied in the Russian Arctic towns. It has been established that the poor performance catalytic converters at low loads at sub-zero temperatures might become an obstacle to solving the problem for transport use. A method is proposed for calculating pollutant emissions with exhaust fumes of transport Euro 3 – Euro 5 emission standards for the Arctic weather conditions. The theoretical approach is verified using data from transport experiments relevant for the northern regions of Russia.
