Abstract

The paper provides a structure of the national network of intelligent transport systems and describes forming the structure of state system for certification of intelligent transport elements in the Russian Federation. Formation of a system for issuing safety certificates is required to ensure the due level information and cyber safety of intelligent transport systems and intelligent road infrastructure, including in depersonalisation of users’ personal data.

Abstract

Economic evaluation of transport projects, including in the sphere of railway infrastructure development, is a topical practical task and an important scientific direction. Its results allow objectively and credibly understand the practicability of implementation of projects, compare alternative options, and select the best one. The paper proposes an approach to economic evaluation of infrastructural projects for development of railway transport based on econometric calculations of influence of investments on changes to the added value of railway transportation, on cross elasticity indices that characterise influence of the projects on other types of transport, and on the general macroeconomic growth in the regions.

Abstract

The authors consider mobility as a service of multimodal passenger transportation for the population with consolidating role of railway transport. On the basis of analysis of dynamics and structure of changes in the passenger transportation market under the influence of domestic and international-economic factors and pandemic-linked uncertainties, topicality of development of an economic system for forming an economic system of mobility of multimodal passenger transportation on the basis of network interaction is justified. An innovative product, seamless mobility as a service in organisation of multimodal passenger transportation, is proposed. Management solutions for organisation of network interaction that allow consistently improving the time value factor and provide seamless mobility as a service.

Abstract

Logistics of railway field operation studies disruptions and risks occurring in transportation process, and develops mechanisms for fighting against them. The first part of the paper presents an extensive analysis of bottlenecks in organisation of transportation process on Russia’s railways. Concluding part of the paper is to be found in the next issue of the journal.

Abstract

The paper presents an overview of organisation of high-speed cargo transportation with speeds of over 250 km/h in France and Italy, which had limited scale. Creation in 2020 in the People’s Republic of China of a new high-speed electrical train designed for transportation of ULD-class cargo containers at speeds of up to 350 km/h creates new prerequisites for cargo transportation by high-speed railways. At the same time, the problem of so-called technological disharmony is exacerbated as cargo handling consumes much manual labour. Development of container transportation on high-speed railways directly depends on success in designing wagons equipped for mechanised handling of ULD-class containers.

Abstract

Estimation of projected demand for passenger transportation on newly created infrastructure is very important for justification of expedience of attracting investments. Creation of instruments for estimation of projected passenger flows of planned high-speed railway mainlines in Russia will allow evaluation of strategic decisions in development of passenger railway transportation. The paper proposes a new method for evaluation of demand for passenger transportation based on determination of qualitative characteristic of the communication being formed, accounting for gravitational approach.

Abstract

The authors propose contemporary system architecture for a train movement control system which entails fitting up each facility-level controller of peripheral railway automation equipment with specialised easily detachable diagnostic modules. In such a system, command circuits and diagnostic circuits are separated, and a segregated compute core is used for diagnosis, monitoring and forecasting. Possible methods of implementation of the control system with both centralised and decentralised distribution of equipment are described. Authors note possibilities for implementation of systems with dispersed computational resources and the use of cyber protected radio channels for controlling decentralised railway automation objects and for obtaining diagnostic data. New types of centralisation of railway movement control are described: radio centralised control and virtual centralised control of railway switches and signals. Development of these movement control technologies will make routing directly from traction vehicle possible.

Abstract

The paper demonstrates the possibility of creating software on basis of computer vision and artificial intelligence to ensure automation of collection of primary information about each passenger’s movement from the point of boarding a transport vehicle through to the point of disembarkation, that is, automation of forming data for building a mobility plan of passenger journeys.

Abstract

The paper provides an analysis of application of systems for diagnosing the technical state of cargo wagons on the Oktyabrskaya railway. The authors present the existing system of data transfer on control of the state of cargo wagon’s parts, outline shortcomings of the monitoring system, propose a scheme for complex control of the technical state of a cargo wagon on the travel route, and point out directions of development.

Abstract

The paper analyses and justifies the need for processes of continuous education and retraining of staff of Russia’s transport industry. Authors’ own approach to digitalisation of transport industry is defined. Key directions in the system of professional staff retraining that are topical for forming and developing digital culture in the transport industry under modern conditions are considered.

Abstract

The paper proposes a technology for air supply of a shipboard diesel generator in transition regimes aimed at increasing economic and environmental operation indices — combustion efficiency, minimisation of formation of toxic products, improvement of engine intake, and increasing electrical energy quality in case of sudden loss of load.

Abstract

The paper presents an analysis of existing methodological approaches to evaluation of bicycle infrastructure quality on the basis of international recommendations. The analysis permitted to develop a methodological approach to evaluation of quality level of bicycle traffic without resorting to complex instrumental measurements of the state of bicycle infrastructure.

Abstract

Authors propose a method for evaluation of strain-stress state of long-length railway rails which permits to determine residual stress in long-length rails after differential hardening and levelling. Results of evaluation of residual stress in the rail were compared to experimental results, with a good degree of correlation. Analysis of results obtained indicates that on the rail head surface longitudal residual stresses qualitatively change from the negative (compressive strain) after differential hardening to the positive (expansion stress) after mechanical levelling. The calculation method developed, unlike the traditional analytical methods, allows evaluating the stress-strain state of structures being studied with increased accuracy, and provides graphic representation of calculation results.

Abstract

Rail filler blocks are used in modern tram track design, and their elastic properties help achieve significant reduction of noise and vibration. Large variety of filler materials and designs complicates their use under different operational conditions, which makes it necessary to justify requirements for them. Achievement of objectives set was carried out by computer simulation using specialised computation and analysis software and comparison of results obtained to field studies. Finite elements method was used for calculation of basic characteristics that determine the fillers’ working capacity and for comparison of these indices to results of laboratory studies. Possibility of applying the proposed method to justify fillers’ parameters is outlined. Calculations allow forecasting working capacity and efficiency of fillers of various designs when replacing rails after 25 years (5 million load cycles) and operational life of monolithic reinforced concrete foundation (50 years).
