The article describes the history of the design and construction of the Baikal- Amur Mainline from the perspective of the chief designer of BAM, the design and survey institute Mosgiprotrans. It highlights the working conditions of the designers and builders of the route, the technical solutions adopted, and the most notable objects of the road. Statistics of the works are provided, and prospects for the development of the mainline are outlined.
The article describes the history of the design of the Baikal- Amur Mainline starting from the 1930s. It shows the historical, geopolitical, climatic, and other conditions under which the designers worked. Special attention is paid to the activities of representatives of Leningrad (St. Petersburg) institutions, particularly PSTU and Lengiprotrans. The results of their work are evaluated.
The article emphasizes the role of the Baikal-Amur Mainline in the Russian economy. It shows that, under constantly increasing requirements for the throughput of the sections of the mainline, it is necessary to develop a set of measures to improve the technology of train movement organization and enhance the infrastructure. An analysis of the restraining factors hindering the effective implementation of batch train movement on the main sections of BAM and the expected effect of implementing the «virtual coupling» technology is performed. The current state of the project implementation on the mainline is assessed.
In solving the critical task of creating a framework for transport infrastructure that ensures external economic potential in the current geopolitical situation, state policy should motivate highly efficient products of the transport industry (services) to effectively function in all sectors of the economy. The basic principles of a transport complex that would be characterized by technological leadership, be efficient for the national economy, and be able to meet the quality of its products for all business structures in the country in all types of transport are developed.
The effectiveness and interrelation of the formed mechanisms for implementing the Transport Strategy of the Russian Federation are analyzed. The main principles and goals of the strategy, the importance and necessity of forming management mechanisms for its implementation, the fragmentation of their presence in the planned document, and the direct mechanisms of its implementation are considered.
ЭКОНОМИКА И ФИНАНСЫ
The article addresses the issue of seasonal irregularity in transportation, affecting the main performance indicators of railways and infrastructure loading. The aim of the research is to improve the scientific tools for assessing transportation seasonality. The traditional approach with the determination of irregularity coefficients is supplemented by the calculation of the range of variation R and the mean linear deviation based on seasonality indices, confirming the research hypothesis that using the R and indicators to assess transportation seasonality and infrastructure loading allows for more definite conclusions about the level of seasonality changes.
БЕЗОПАСНОСТЬ
The aim of the work is to create scientific foundations for a comprehensive assessment of the reliability of operated bridge structures within the system of technical regulation of transport construction objects by developing new methods for analyzing, assessing, and calculating the technical and economic components of risk, developing an industry system of indicative risk indicators, organizational and program-regulatory measures, and improving effectively operating mechanisms of the quality management system for operated bridges. New methods for analyzing and calculating the technical and economic components of risks are proposed, and the structure of the industry system of indicative risk indicators is formed.

The current constraints on the sustainable growth of railway container transport at the present stage are analyzed. A systematic analysis of the main organizational and technological parameters of container trains on the RZD network is carried out. It is revealed that the strict adherence to the requirements for forming a container train of a unified length of 71 conventional cars does not always meet the demand of shippers and does not improve the conditions for delivering their products. The result of the research is a developed classifier of decisions on forming container trains of differentiated length depending on the technical and economic characteristics of a specific railway direction.
НАУКА И ТЕХНОЛОГИИ
The concept of continuous development of the organization’s human capital, aggregating the methodology of the ideas of a «learning organization» as well as the process approach to management, representing it as a complex systemic process based on the convergence of two component subprocesses: knowledge management regulated by the knowledge lifecycle and the development of the organization’s personnel competencies, is proposed. The final model of the process is presented, designed with an emphasis on the subordination and interdependence of its functions. A set of management tools distributed across three key levels of implementation of measures aimed at building an effective personnel structure is identified.
ТРАНСПОРТНЫЕ СРЕДСТВА И ТЕХНИКА
The article describes the history of the construction of the Baikonur Cosmodrome and its railway network. The evolution of the cosmodrome’s equipment with locomotives for the transportation of rockets and equipment is considered. Their characteristics, innovations used, and design features for solving specific tasks are noted. Locomotives operating at other Russian cosmodromes — Plesetsk, Vostochny, etc. — are mentioned. The cooperation of JSC «RZD» with scientific institutions working in the field of space research is noted.
ГОРОД И ТРАНСПОРТ
The influence of passenger flow characteristics on the routes on the indicators of transport processes such as traffic intervals and the nominal capacity of vehicles ensuring the highest efficiency of transportation is studied the highest efficiency of transportation is studied. The goal of the work is to meet the established demand of the population for transportation by performing the minimally necessary transport work by buses on urban regular routes.
КАДРЫ
The article presents the results of a study aimed at determining the propensity for professional burnout and the reasons for the decline in productivity among 45 airport employees providing handling services. As an empirical research method, diagnostics using three professional questionnaires measuring the following indicators of professional behavior of the respondents were chosen: propensity for professional burnout, employee productivity level through the study of 11 indicators characterizing professional activity, emotional attitude towards work, and psychological stability of the worker. Recommendations of an organizational and legal nature ensuring the prevention of professional burnout among airport workers are given.
