Abstract

The article establishes that after more than 20 years of railway transport reform in the Russian Federation, the goals and objectives of attracting investment in the renewal of the freight car fleet and the wagon economy, as well as in car building, have been met and even exceeded. At the same time, the development of competitive markets in the field of cargo transportation have taken place, but on a limited scale (provision of wagons and repair services rendering).

Abstract

The study considers the statement of the problem of a technological solution in the field of organization of transportation and management of transport making it possible to select the best transportation option from the routes under consideration. An integrated approach was used to assess the rationality of routes and select the best of them, considering a wide range of criteria that characterize the main features of this course of carriage type, the limitation of transport dimensional characters and the requirements of cargo owners.

Abstract

The St. Petersburg Metro has set a course for the development and implementation of a project which business model would ensure data storage and exchange on the infrastructure facilities in operation and the transportation process itself at all the stages of the life cycle of the metro as a means of subsurface transport for all transportation process participants. The concept of the Consolidated Control Center of the St. Petersburg Metro has become such a business model.

Abstract

The article highlights the main problems of the existing organization of high-speed service in Russia. The authors propose options for solving the reported problems and their implementations as well as technical solutions for the modernization of the rolling stock operated on the St. Petersburg – Moscow railway line. The article lists the advantages of high-speed trains of increased train formation and proves the economic efficiency of making changes to the “Sapsan” electric train formation scheme.

Abstract

A technique has been developed that makes it possible to calculate the friction coefficient, considering the use of a friction activator in the system “electric locomotive wheel - rail” in a probabilistic formulation. Using the proposed method, it is possible to modify the empirical dependence given in the “Rules for Grade Computations for Train Operation” to calculate the friction coefficient when using various types of friction modifiers. The calculation was performed by using a friction modifier based on thermosetting epoxy resins.

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to identify the problems of railway transport functioning during the pandemic and develop ways to solve them through the development of multimodal transportation. To achieve the goal, we use methods and instruments of statistics. The information base of the study was the materials of open sources, periodicals, as well as Internet resources, including data from the official websites of transport companies. The main result is the recommendations for the development of multimodal routes on the base of railway transport in concordance with current conditions and global trends in transport mobility. The study proves that sustainable development of railway transport is possible if it is integrated in seamless transport systems of regions and cities. The obtained results and conclusions can be used by the management of transport companies and regulatory authorities in updating the transport policy and strategies.

Abstract

It was revealed that the seasonal irregularity of freight handling in railway transport tends to decrease both in general and for individual types of cargo, and in the current organization of carloadings dominated by goods characterized by low seasonality. This contributes to the optimization of operating costs, the intensive use of the railway infrastructure and the rise in industry revenues. The conclusion is made about the practicality of increasing the uniformity of freight traffic using both tariff mechanisms and organizational and technological measures.

Abstract

The article considers the methodological foundation for calculating the transportation service rate in the aviation transport and logistics network using a discrete-event simulation model (DESM) of passenger service in an aviation transport and logistics center (AviaTLC). The author carries out calculations for the performance function of motion control in the transportation service through time. The article substantiates the necessity of administrative time minimization in AviaTLC to increase the transportation service rate.

Abstract

An experimental computational method is proposed in order to determine the main resistance in the movement of freight cars. This method makes it possible to significantly reduce the cost of testing and determines the mechanical components causing resistance to movement through the use of the experimental rolling method. Calculation of the aerodynamic component on digital models in production, while simultaneously conducting freight car brake testing shows resistance indicators of the low-sided car model 12-196-01.

Abstract

Dangerous air pollution by industry and transport for the period 2010 – 2019 has been studied in the Russian Arctic towns. It has been established that the poor performance catalytic converters at low loads at sub-zero temperatures might become an obstacle to solving the problem for transport use. A method is proposed for calculating pollutant emissions with exhaust fumes of transport Euro 3 – Euro 5 emission standards for the Arctic weather conditions. The theoretical approach is verified using data from transport experiments relevant for the northern regions of Russia.
