Methodological Justification for Separating Vehicular and Pedestrian Flows at Signalized Intersections

Abstract

The study examines determining signal-cycle parameters at intersections with pedestrian traffic. Pedestrian accident data from 2023–2024 in Vyborgsky District (St. Petersburg) are analyzed in relation to traffic intensity. Recommendations are provided for applying a methodology to decide whether to separate or maintain conflict between vehicular and pedestrian flows.
