The article presents an analysis of current megatrends in transport development through the lens of key strategic documents of the Russian Federation. Systemic challenges for Russian transport engineering are identified, including issues of technological sovereignty, human resource provision, and regulatory modernization. Pathways to address these challenges in order to achieve national strategic goals are proposed.

The article proposes the formation of a new railway-maritime transport logistics scheme to Kamchatka, which can be implemented within a short timeframe and with limited funding. Its maritime component (shipbuilding) will provide military and commercial access to the World Ocean, confirming Russia’s status as a Great Maritime Power.

Abstract

The aim of this work is to formulate proposals for amending and supplementing domestic legislation in the field of maritime navigation in the context of implementing autonomous vessel piloting and mooring systems in seaports, in order to ensure navigational safety and eliminate certain existing legal barriers.

Abstract

The article proposes an original index-rating approach to assessing the socio-economic significance of transport modes, enabling an evaluation that accounts for the contribution of each mode to freight and passenger transportation. Its advantage lies in the ability to perform variant-based assessments with a focus on either physical or monetary metrics, or an integration of both.

Abstract

The article addresses the problem of motor vehicle failures when combining repair with maintenance, noting that flexible maintenance systems emerging abroad do not minimize such failures either. The transition of Russian manufacturers to new maintenance systems could combine digitalization of maintenance planning with an expansion of their functions. It is proposed to direct this expansion toward replacing unplanned “on-demand” repair with planned preventive maintenance and adjusting service intervals not only by usage intensity, but also by operating conditions and vehicle age.

The article demonstrates how the application of modern visualization tools in automated railway route alignment enables a transition from classical graphical-analytical methods of determining route position in flat projections to advanced three-dimensional spatial design on digital terrain models.

Abstract

The aim of the work is to find a reasonable compromise between economically viable reconstruction and restoration, which is not always economically justified, in the development of transport infrastructure facilities. It is shown that restored facilities can become artistic and semantic dominants that generate positive emotions among passengers and create a memorable, expressive image.

Abstract

The article proposes a methodological approach to evaluating the effectiveness of pedestrian infrastructure, drawing on best practices from Russia and Germany, as well as an algorithm for applying architectural and planning solutions to more efficiently distribute space on narrow streets with regard to pedestrian flows.

Abstract

The article describes a developed adaptive filter that is configured using fuzzy logic and calculates locomotive speed based on the speed of its wheelsets. Simulation results show that the calculated speed corresponds to the actual locomotive speed with sufficient accuracy. This information can be used for the correct operation of wheelset slip controllers.

Using the example of the Aeroquantum of the “Quantorium. Novatoriya” technopark (Ivanovo Region), the article examines mechanisms for building an educational environment that integrates project activities, engineering practices, and modern digital technologies. A multi-level personnel training model for unmanned aerial systems is presented, combining theoretical preparation with practice-oriented learning.

Abstract

The article assesses the impact of railway lines on urban territory connectivity using the Monte Carlo method and geoinformation technologies (QGIS, OpenStreetMap). It is shown that the average distance between railway and road crossings exceeds the equivalent indicator for random urban sections by a factor of 1.5 to 4. The findings enable the development of recommendations for optimizing urban transport infrastructure under conditions of limited budget resources and improving urban environment quality.

The article examines administrative methods of traffic management aimed at increasing the cost of private vehicle ownership and increasing the share of public passenger transport. Calculations of travel time and speed of urban transport are carried out for various distributions of trips between private and public transport.

Abstract

The article presents a methodology for calculating magnetic cells of the magnetic section of a rotating magnetic mooring device, which is part of an automatic azimuthal tugboat, as well as a shore-based mooring device required for implementing the concept of autonomous navigation in a seaport. Using computer-aided design tools and additive manufacturing technologies, a functional prototype of a magnetic cell has been created, demonstrating the operating principle.

Abstract

The article examines an approach to defining the boundaries of an urban agglomeration using analysis of daily traffic flow variability. Using a methodology for analyzing traffic flow intensity during morning and evening peak hours, stable links between the urban agglomeration centre and adjacent territories are identified. The Perm urban agglomeration is examined as a practical case study. Conclusions are drawn regarding the applicability of this approach for further research and urban planning.

Abstract

The article proposes a method for forecasting maximum traffic flow speed in an urban environment based on an ensemble regression model (random forest and gradient boosting). Data on geometric road elements, weather conditions, and temporal parameters collected in Khabarovsk over two years were used. Twelve key features were identified — including carriageway width, month, temperature, parking type, and others. The results enable refinement of the design standards set out in SP 34.13330.2021.
